Not all of it is due to vanity or media influence. Even though the media do play a part, size zero and anorexia is a mental illness. They don't see their bodies the way other people do, while all we can see is skin and bones, when they look in the mirror they see someone who is fat and ugly and are very unhappy Crying or Very sad

I was talking about the people on telly who have done the size zero diet that the stars do to keep to size zero. That is pressure for vanity.

It might be pressure for vanity but it all boils down to the same thing - they are not happy with their bodies.
These stars make themselves sick, eat very very little and are still not happy with their weight. These size zero programmes prove that while some people can stop these silly diets before it gets too far, others just don't know when to stop Twisted Evil

The media does have some influence on how we view our bodies. I think the fashion industry needs to start using bigger sized models more. The industry doesn't do much to help body image.

They do ia for vanity and the fact that if they don`t they simply don`t work!! They also go on crash diets before they go onto the red carpet. Horrendous. I think some of them may actually be happy with their bodies, but to get into that designer dress that has been made for them they have to slim.
