I dont think we need all the info samz, cos we know what is good for us, but if it tells you what is best to eat for certain things then that would be great e.g strawberries and tomatos good for cancer, Spinach is a good duretic, that kind of thing. Chris1 is desperate to know about foods that are a good Detox

Not all people reading this will know about foods that are good for you as a lot of people don`t, and that is where education comes in!!!! Hence the need for healthy school meals.
I will dig the book out and then look through for answers!!1 someone can borrow it if they want??????

Yea that would be great samz, why dont you start a new thread about nutrients in food.
We are all trying to help each other to eat more healthy thats why I started this thread for recipes. I'm always looking for new stuff to try.

oriental chicken stir fry

lovely jubbly Laughing


Ingredients:
3 1/2 oz boneless & skinless chicken breast
2 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup pea pods
1/4 small onion, chopped
1 cup bok choy, chopped
1/2 tsp olive oil
1 1/2 tbsp teriyaki sauce
2 tsp sliced almonds
Salt & pepper to taste
2 cups cooked rice
Oriental Chicken Stir-Fry



Method:
Rinse and pat dry chicken; slice into thin strips.
Spray a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and heat on medium-high; sauté chicken until no longer pink, about 3-5 minutes, remove from skillet.
Heat oil in same skillet; add onions, pea pods and teriyaki sauce, stir-fry for about 4-6 minutes.
Add bok choy, mushrooms, salt, pepper and stir-fry for about 4 minutes more.
Serve over rice and garnish with sliced almonds.
Serves: 4-6
Preparation time: 15-20 minutes

I think a good one is how to do healthy meals on a budget, as some ingredients can be expensive. You would be surprised how healthy you can cook on a low budget!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Believe me, i have had to do it!!

Vegetarian food is lovely. My sister in law a vegetarian and I have tried their food, it is lovely!!
