If I want to put film from my dvd camera disc onto the pc through media player would I RIP it or Burn it?

I want to transfer film to normal sized DVD from the little disc.

ripping is not always advised, you are taking quality out of the format,

Well if its on a disc, put the disc in the machine, and if she just wants a copy on the computer, then just load the disk up, right click and copy and paste it to a folder on the PC
