My Great granddfathers brother was a photographer in Holyhead aprrox 60- 70 yrs ago. His studio was behind my grandmothers cafe on Newry Fawr.
I am looking to get hold of codies of any photographs he has taken. I know he took photographs of weddings and portraits of Holyhead townsfolk. If you are my age, in your forties then he could possibly taken pictures of your grand parents or great grand parents. his work was signed in the corner John Clay or J. Clay.
If anyone has copies of his work i would be grateful if you could photo copy them and send them onto me, with the details of who the people in the pictures are. I will reimburse postage and copying etc.
I want to use the images in an art project i will be doing next year sometime. so i would also need your permmission to use the images in my art project (dont want much do I!)
I would also be intrested in any images John Clay took of the local landmarks or secenary. I have tried the archive in Llangefni but they do not have any images taken by him!
Cheers
