right you techie buffs i need advice my external hard drive stopped working the other week , when i switched it on nothing happened no little blue light appeared to say it was on , i looked at the adapter and noticed that the green power light was not on , so i thinks to myself that the fuse has gone in the plug , so change the fuse still nothing , conclusion the adapter is broken , simple solution get a new one , which came to day plugged it in and hey presto the hard drive does not come on , so any ideas is it the internal workings of the casing , if so is it feasable to buy a whole new casing and power supply . and insert the acutal hard drive from the broken one to the new one , _________________ Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!'

Simple answer
Yes, the external HDD carriage/case is very easily bought online, locally or at a push, down at PCWorld

This is the one, got a 250gig HD in it bit noisy but it has a good fan, my other one doesn;t it overheated and I lost everything, if you can find one of these cheaper should be ok, postage would be high from amazon I think _________________
