iIhave your Grandmothers old recipe book with all old recipes in it including bread and butter pud .No cream in it s in them days they could not afford it .It is a good old fashioned recipe which the old folks long ago made it up from stale bread as they could not afford to throw anything away ,so it substituted a pudding in a cheap way without wasting.If you want that book Iwill give it to you xxxx

there lots of old fashioned recipes and Idont care what anybody says you cannot beat them.This cook book I have after my Mother is plain good old fashioned cooking .You can keep all your exotic crap this is what Iwas brought up in and Ilove it .I am not impartial to trying anything new but I always think about the way I was brought up and it was to good old fashioned home cooking and the gorgeous smell it put through the house .To me it was home

I don't suppose it's got the recipe for the "Eggless Fatles cake" has it?? My mother used to have the recipe in a cookbook of hers and it went missing years ago.
